(NOTE: If you don’t yet have a WordPress blog, check out WordPress Setup – Ten Steps to Blogging Profits.)
Here is a list of some of my favorite WordPress Plugins. To add free plugins, go to your WordPress admin area. Find the Plugins section on the left side of the page. Click Add New. In the search box type in the following plugin names. From there you can find out more about the plugin and decide if you want to install it.
Some plugins are not free, but if they made this list I think they’re worth the price. To add premium plugins, you’ll need to click on the link provided and go purchase the plugin. The creator will then give you detailed instructions about installing and activating it. Usually, though, you will download a zipped file to your computer, then go to the Plugins section of your WordPress Admin panel. Click Add New. Instead of searching for the name of the plugin, you’ll click on Upload. Search for the zipped file you just downloaded to your computer. Upload it and click Install. Then click Activate.
If you see a plugin below that is linked, that means I have written a detailed review about it or it’s a direct link to purchase the plugin.
Some of these plugins will take 30 seconds to install and activate. Some of will require you to set them up after they are activated. You might spend 30 minutes getting the more powerful ones configured – totally worth your time! Those plugins come with instructions for how to get them up and running.
